It has been a beautiful year (or so) of capturing the Cabreja family. I have photographed their maternity session, newborn session and the past year of baby Cris’s life and it has been so much fun! I’m almost sad that I won’t be seeing him every 3 months for his sessions but I know the next time he comes in for a session, I will be over the moon excited! Thank you to the Cabreja family for choosing me, Melz Photography, and for always giving each session their 1,000%….thank you! Cris is a natural since day one…I’ll share one of my fave photos from each session Maternity+Newborn: for more click here 3 months: for more click here 6 months: for more click here 9 months: for more click here Check him out now: “one” banner by Whimsical Paper Creations by Josie
As a photographer, I don’t walk around with my Nikon — it literally stays in my studio unless I have a session with a client off-site…so that means the majority of my daughters photos are taken with my iPhone 4 via Instagram with the help of awesome apps and my Olloclip (aka iPhone 3-in-1 lens) and guess what? I am OKAY with that. HOWEVER, from time to time, I have to give them a quick dedicated session…as most clients know, if my girls are home, they will knock on the door attempting to sucker me into letting them in LOL…so I think as their mother it is only fair they have these dedicated sessions! PLUS I would have to practice what I preach..”nothing like professional photographs of your kid(s)”!!! So my youngest (til Maison arrives in the Fall :)) Miah (pronounced Mia, the “H” is there for decoration LOL) will be TWO June 27th and I can’t believe it…where did time go?! I would normally hire my friend from Gricel’s Photography to photograph us as a family during this time of year but we have our maternity session booked for next month…(yes watch out for the blog post on that or simply follow my photog) so I said to myself…Miah deserves her own session! Of course that means a little hint of Myla would be part of the session…so here it goes! Myla’s headband is from SimplySweet Baby Hats Miah’s shirt and headband is from my FAVE vendor Wisely Crafted Originals OHHHHHH and some of you …
There’s no better feeling then having the privilege to photograph a returning client! Back in 2012 I made the decision that I would like to start specializing in certain types of photography: maternity, newborn, children & family. My portfolio for newborns was a little TOO small and I wanted to gain the experience…so I posted on Facebook that I needed newborns….sure enough I got a few penciled in. One of those few, was my dear Celimar & Miko! Funny thing is Miko & I went to the same high school and I had NO idea until they showed up! Long story short, I photographed their newborn baby girl Katalyna then I was hired to capture her first year of life with sessions every 3 months until she turned one…amazing right? It gets better. Katalyna is now a big sister and they returned for maternity and newborn photos 🙂 ….that is amazing for me. My work to impact my clients so much that they return and praise my hard work. Here’s their maternity session (how fabulous does she look?!) : This momma went in a week and some change earlier gave birth to a beautiful blue eyed baby BOY! How blessed are their kids to have color eyes! 😀 meet Jacob, an already momma’s boy, sisters best friend and daddy’s little man….he is adorable!
Where do I begin? This sweet family was awesome to photograph, children were amazing, well behaved and we were finished with session within 80 min…..that’s what 6.5 months pregnant photographers dream of…fast, smooth photo shoots 🙂 I’ve had the privilege to photograph this family since 2012 (sharing a “then and now” comparison below) and that my friends is shhhhweet! Who doesn’t love loyal clients?! What’s even more amazing is this family have two older siblings that are girls and the little one who is a boy…which in about 2.5 years will be my little ones! It’s always fun to watch young siblings interact and be so kids….oh and how could I forget! This lovely couple is approaching their 8th anniversary this fall so we squeezed in some shots of them alone 🙂 Here goes the session:
Newborn Ariel was such a GOOD baby! As soon as she came in, she behaved and breezed thru her first two set ups (which normally is not how newborns treat me LOL), normally newborns fight with me at first….luckily we (Ariel’s mommy and I) worked our our magic and she was knocked out cold! Ariel’s mommy, Sandy, was given a gift certificate for a newborn session and I am so happy her niece (who gave her gift certificate) chose me! I lalalaLOVE newborns, they make me so happy! If you are interested in getting someone a gift certificate, please click here! Since Ariel’s name is from the Little Mermaid…it was only right we did a mermaid theme set up, we also had strict rules from daddy, NO BIG HEADBANDS! Which is completely understandable and I somewhat agree! There’s nothing a simplistic and delicate headband on newborn baby girls! BUT as a mother to two toddlers, me LOVE headbands and bows…all shapes and sizes! (okay we squeezed one “big” headband but it’s not that big :-P) So here is the most beautiful Ariel. yes I am sort of bias <3 (Special shout out to Wisely Crafted Originals and Simply Sweet Baby Hats)
